Commonwealth Secretary-General, The Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC delivers statement to COP27
The annual UN Climate Change Conference is the primary global forum for achieving multilateral climate action, while also providing a platform for the larger international community, including civil society, academic and the private sector to contribute to global discussions on climate change.
Headed by the Commonwealth Secretary-General, the Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC, the Commonwealth Secretariat delegation participated at strategic and technical levels at COP27, with the aim of:
- advocating the interests of Commonwealth member countries, particularly small and other vulnerable states
- establishing and strengthening partnerships and networks
- mobilising resources
- exchanging knowledge and best practices around climate action, including lessons learned from flagship programmes such as the:
