The Commonwealth Secretariat is hosting its third Africa regional training event for Commonwealth Election Professionals (CEP) in Ghana from 15-19 November 2021.
The CEP Initiative is an Australian-funded, multi-year project providing professional development opportunities to election professionals in Electoral Management Bodies (EMBs) across member countries.
The workshop will be co-hosted by the Electoral Commission of Ghana, under the general theme: “Delivering credible and inclusive elections in the era of COVID-19: Building public trust and confidence throughout the electoral cycle.”
Launched in January 2021, the project’s third phase (CEP Phase III) aims to support EMBs deliver transparent, credible, and inclusive electoral processes.
Topics to be discussed within the five-day training event are:
- Monday 15 November: The Gender & Social Inclusion (GSI) Perspective
- Tuesday 16 November: The public health dimension - reforms and innovations to maintain confidence & increase participation in electoral processes
- Wednesday 17 November: Managing stakeholders to maintain and promote the credibility and inclusivity of electoral processes
- Thursday 18 November: Public Information and Communications as essential ingredients for credible elections
- Friday 19 November: Managing stakeholder confidence in the post-election environment (including result tabulation, transmission and announcement and the role of electoral technology)
