The Meeting of Commonwealth Senior Officials of Law Ministries will take place at Marlborough House, London, from 1 to 3 October 2018.
In preparation for the Commonwealth Law Ministers’ Meeting, scheduled to take place in 2019, senior officials from across the Commonwealth will discuss a range of topical rule of law issues. They will agree on the items to be featured on the agenda of the law ministers at their next meeting.
During their meeting, senior officials will look at ways to increase access to justice in their jurisdictions, and discuss issues such as the overrepresentation of vulnerable persons in the justice system, reform of civil procedure, and international commercial arbitration. The meeting is an opportunity to examine the latest developments in areas such as data protection, electronic evidence, and international cooperation in criminal matters.
