Although women constitute 50% of the workforce in marine and coastal industries, they are unfairly compensated and occupy positions with the lowest status and lowest levels of job security. The event will highlight the contributions of women in the Indo-Pacific region, emphasising the broader benefits of investing in women for families, communities and nations to pave the way for a more equitable and sustainable future.
Alongside the webinar, we will be announcing a call for video submissions from across the Commonwealth sharing stories on challenges, successes, support and inspiration in promoting equality in the ocean and commitment to ocean health and sustainability.
