The winners of the annual Commonwealth Youth Awards will be announced on 16 March 2022.
The ceremony will take place during Commonwealth Week and will be held virtually for the second time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Twenty finalists from 17 countries are up for five regional awards. Of the five regional winners, one outstanding young person will become the Commonwealth Young Person of the Year 2022.

In addition, to mark HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, the Commonwealth Secretariat is partnering with the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust (QCT) to offer a special award’s programme to one exceptional young person leading work in sustainable social entrepreneurship. They will receive an additional prize of £40,000 in funding, delivered over the course of two years, and will be given access to coaching and development opportunities to help their project flourish.
Finalists were chosen from more than 1000 nominations were received – the highest amount since the awards began.
The awards recognise extraordinary young Commonwealth citizen whose projects are transforming lives in their communities and helping to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
