In partnership with the Khalili Foundation, the Commonwealth Secretariat is embarking on a multi-cultural and multifaith initiative designed to enhance peace across the Commonwealth.
Youth leaders, faith-based organisations and community groups will attend the launch at Marlborough House on Friday, 9 February 2024.
The initiative will be launched by the Commonwealth Secretary-General, the Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC, and philanthropist Sir David Khalili, Founder of the Khalili Foundation. The logo for the multi-year Commonwealth Faith Festival will be unveiled at the event, and further details will be revealed.
The launch will include roundtable discussions with young people to determine what focus areas should be explored and discuss possible solutions to today's most pressing challenges.
The Commonwealth Faith Festival is inclusive. It welcomes youth networks, faith-based organisations, educational institutions, civil society groups, non-governmental organisations, and community groups who want to make a difference in the world. All that is required is a strong conviction to promote peace in your community and throughout the 56 member states of the Commonwealth.
The Commonwealth Faith Festival will include:
- Online courses and resources to upskill participants in peace-building and conflict resolution
- In-country training events
- Funding and awards for projects that promote peace
- Speaking and mentorship opportunities
